Muscat: The number of Covid-19 patients in the intensive care unit at Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah has exceeded 50 patients, a percentage of whom were on full ventilators.
Dr. Nasser bin Amer Al Awed - Sultan Qaboos Hospital, Salalah said: "The number of hospitalized patients in intensive care is increasing, and today it has reached 111 patients and 54 cases in intensive care."
"10 to 15 cases are on full ventilators, and these cases have a high probability of death, and a number of them died and other cases were inserted in their place."
Dr. Nasser added in an interview with Oman tv: "The increase in cases is very worrying, and to limit this escalation is linked to the people's commitment to the precautionary measures, and every person should think about his safety and the safety of his family and society."
Major Tariq bin Awad Al Shanfari, Royal Oman Police explained :" The increase in injuries came as a result of violating the committee’s decisions in the post-closure period and allowing the movement of individuals. We hope that the decision to increase the number of hours of the ban will have a positive effect in limiting the increase in cases."
