Reserving appointments mandatory for trucks departing from Saudi Arabia: OCCI

Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), has issued a notice for business owners in the land transport sector regarding trucks management system for trucks departing from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or passing through  Al-Batha port in the United Arab Emirates.

A statement issued online by OCCI said: "Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry would like to inform business owners in the land transport sector that Saudi Customs has started the implementation of the trucks management system 'reserving trucks appointments' for trucks departing from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or passing through the Al-Batha port in the United Arab Emirates as of April 15, 2021."

The application will be flexible in the beginning so that those who do not have a prior appointment are allowed to wait in the truck parking for 24 hours to take the appointment, and in the absence of reservation, leaving will not be allowed. The application will be mandatory and the waiting period will not be allowed  from April 25, 2021.
