Muscat: With 41 deaths, the casualties due to the COVID- 19 reached a new high during the last 24 hours in Oman.
As many as 2,037 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) were registered in the Sultanate on Tuesday, in addition to 41 new COVID- 19-related deaths.
This brings the total number of positive COVID-19 cases to 252,609 in the Sultanate. The total number of COVID-19 -related death cases reached 2,782, the Ministry of Health said.
On Monday, 31 deaths were reported from various parts of the country.
The Ministry added that 1,079 new cases have recovered, bringing the total number to 221,250 recoveries.
The Ministry also pointed out that 209 people were hospitalised over the past 24 hours, as the total number of current hospitalised CCOVID- 19 -infected patients stands at 1,517; of them, 443 are in intensive care units.
