Muscat: More than 300,000 people have received COVID-19 vaccines in North Al Batinah Governorate till August 4, 2021.
"The vaccination centres in the wilayats of North Al Batinah Governorate are witnessing a good turnout from citizens and residents, who are targeted within the expanded national campaign for COVID-19," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.
Fatima bint Hashem Al Hashimi, Director of Diseases Surveillance and Control Department at the Directorate General of Health Services in North Al Batinah Governorate said that six vaccination centres have been allocated in all wilayats of the governorate to provide vaccination during this period for the target groups aged 18 and above.
"These centres were equipped and prepared to enable the beneficiaries to take the vaccine dose with ease, while emphasising the adherence to precautionary measures such as washing hands, wearing a mask and physical distancing, in addition to measuring the temperature and making sure that the beneficiaries are free of respiratory symptoms before entering the immunisation rooms," Dr. Fatima Al Hashimi added.
Dr. Fatima Al Hashimi explained that those who received the vaccination in the North Al Batinah Governorate until last Wednesday amounted to 342,322, including 288,517 Omanis, where the coverage rate of at least one dose reached 77 percent.
