College in Oman promotes Arabic language worldwide

Manah: The Sultan Qaboos College for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-Native Speakers (SQCTANNS) received 1,048 students during the period from 2012 to 2019 from 55 countries.

The United States topped the list with 209 students, followed by 136 students from the United Kingdom and 113 students from Turkey.
The college continues its message in promoting the Arabic language worldwide and introducing the Omani and Arab culture, as well as deepening the connections between different peoples.

The college strives to turn the Arabic language into a bridge of human communication.

Othman Musa Al Sa’adi, Assistant Director General of Educational Programmes said in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that the college began offering its first training courses for the academic year 2021/2022.

Those online courses target 12 Arabic language teachers from various colleges and universities of Uzbekistan.

Al Sa’adi added that a training programme was set for the teachers as it covers a spectrum of topics, including education, second language learning without using a mediator language, using educational technology in teaching Arabic and introducing the skills of teaching speaking.
It also includes a number of topics and lessons on developmental strategies, classroom activities and self-learning.
