Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the global efforts to find a just solution to the Palestinian issue.
"In a speech before the United Nations decolonisation committee, the Sultanate of Oman expressed its welcome to the global trends aimed at finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, including the two-state solution, and stressed that the occupation does not have a statute of limitations," Oman Mission to UN said.
The Sultanate called on Israel and all parties concerned to return towards peace, in a manner that lays the foundations for the establishment of a just and comprehensive atmosphere in the Middle East, on the basis of international legitimacy resolutions, including the mandatory resolutions issued by the UN Security Council, in a manner that achieves coexistence and mutual exchange for all countries and people of the region.
The diplomat, Sultan Mohammed Al-Fazari, indicated that the international community is required to exert appropriate pressure on Israel, as the occupying power, to deter it from practicing its hostile policies in the occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and in the occupied Syrian Golan.
