Oman's Ministry of Transport to implement e-Tendering system

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport and Communications is working on implementing the e-Tendering System, which has been proved to be technically and technologically efficient in ensuring easy processing of tender procedures.
Yousef bin Abdullah al Mujaini, Director of Tenders and Contracts at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, said that implementing the e-Tendering System comes in response to the trends made by the government to convert to digital economy and society and advanced IT age. He added that the Ministry of Transport and Communications started implementing the e-Tendering System two years ago on all sector levels at the ministry. The system saved time and effort in processing tender procedures and transactions.
He pointed out that the new system ensures e-delivery, reply to the inquiries of the bidding companies and reducing efforts made by technicians in the ministry.
He affirmed that the system enhances efficiency and promotes transparency.
It also allows circulating all inquiries and replies, so that they will be clear to all tenderers.
