Muscat: Registration for the 5th edition of Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-Government Services will start on Monday.
The award is organised and supervised by the Information Technology Authority (ITA) and targeting government and private institutions, including small and medium enterprises to encourage them to develop electronic services and honouring the outstanding projects in the provision of electronic services.
The award this year includes 11 categories, of which eight categories for government institutions, namely Best Public Service — Government to Employee, Best Public Service — Government to Citizens, Best Mobile Service — Government to Employee, Best Mobile Service — Government to Citizens, and Best Whole of Government Service.
Three new categories were added, Best Service Supporting Doing Business Best e-Participation for Decision-Making and Best e-Transformation Achievement. Three categories were allocated to private enterprises, two of them for large organisations, namely Best Private Sector Service and Best Private Sector Mobile Service, and one category to small and medium enterprises, namely Best SME Service. The registration will continue until August 21. It will be followed by internal evaluation stage during the period from August 21 to 31. The panel is scheduled to meet in October, whereas the final results will be announced at the awards ceremony in December.
