Muscat: The Environment Authority has used drones to fire wild tree seeds in the Wilayat of Bidiyah, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

"The Environment Authority is carrying out the third experiment of spreading seeds of wild trees using drones in the Wilayat of Bidiyah in the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Wali Bidiyah and the Director General of Nature Conservation, and the participation of those interested in environmental affairs," the Environment Authority said in a statement.

The experiment of spreading seeds using drones comes after the first experiment was carried out in the Governorate of Dhofar, and the second experiment was carried out in one of the Khors in the Wetland Reserve. This also comes as part of the authority's efforts to implement the national initiative to plant 10 million trees and employ modern technologies in the environmental field.
