Muscat: With the participation of more than 40 beekeepers, marketing outlets for the sale of Omani honey have been set up in Oman Avenues Mall.

"Marketing outlets for the sale of Omani honey continue to be effective in their third edition during the period from February 13 to February 22, 2022 in Oman Avenues Mall. The Ministry has also allocated the Asal Oman platform for those wishing to shop online (www.asaloman.com), " the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources said in a statement.

Marketing outlets aim to provide an opportunity for beekeepers to familiarise visitors with their various honey products and an opportunity for consumers wishing to purchase honey. 44 beekeepers from different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman participate in the marketing outlets.

The beekeepers were divided into two batches to reduce crowding and the number of participants. 22 beekeepers participated during the first six days of the event and 22 other beekeepers during the rest of the days.

The amount of honey participated by all beekeepers in the various governorates of the Sultanate amounted to seven tonnes.

Omani honey sales during the period from 24th to 31st August 2021 achieved sales of OMR  49,423, with an amount of three tonnes, through marketing outlets and electronic platforms.
