Oman women’ s cricket is building stronger block by block. We are hopeful of doing well in the tournament. The girls have been training day-in day-out to be expressive on the field.”

The Oman Women’s National Team’s previous tournament exposure at the international level came in the form of the GCC Women’s T20i Championship Cup held at the Oman Cricket Academy between March 20 and 26, 2022. With 4 wins in 5 games, Oman finished second behind the United Arab Emirates.

The competition itself is one that is aligned with and borne out of the Asian Cricket Council’s vision for the development of Women’s cricket in the region. It was originally set to be held in June 2020, but the global onset of the Covid-19 pandemic rendered its commencement untenable.
