Muscat : The Khareef season, characterised by its beautiful tropical weather and moderate temperatures has begun in Dhofar Governorate on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.
Oman News Agency (ONA), revealed that the Khareef season started today in the Governorate of Dhofar, it makes for beautiful tropical weather and moderate temperatures, making it a destination for visitors and tourists from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman. It will continue until September 21, 2022.
The coastal wilayats in the Dhofar Governorate, specifically from the Wilayat of Dhalkut in the west to the Wilayat of Mirbat in the east, are affected by the Khareef season as a result of the monsoon winds and the flow of clouds coming from the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.
The Khareef season is characterised by its cloudy and rainy weather due to the density of clouds and the temperature dropping to less than 30 degrees Celsius in the city of Salalah, while it drops more in the high mountainous areas surrounded by fog associated with light rain.
