Thundershowers recorded over parts of Oman

Muscat: Cloudy weather prevailed over the Al Hajar Mountains, with thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by active downward winds and hail, according to Oman Meteorology.

The governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Sharqiyah North and South Al Batinah witnessed thunderstorms of varying intensity. Rains increased this afternoon in the wilayat of Nizwa, the wilayat of Dima wa Al-Tayyin, the wilayat of Ibra, and the wilayat of Jabal Al-Akhdar and Izki. Rainwater entered shops and other establishments.

Oman Meteorology had said in a previous statement: "The latest weather maps and analyzes of the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center indicate that the Sultanate might be affected this week by extensions of low pressure system advected from India."
