School performance evaluation guidelines discussed

Muscat: The board of directors of Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education on Sunday discussed the guideline of programme assessment (programme accreditation). It also exchanged views about qualifications proposed by Oman Medical Specialisations Board, the pilot plan for evaluation of school performance and the School Self-assessment Guideline.

The deliberations took place during the Board’s 6th meeting of the year (2022), held under the chair of Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Chairperson of the Board on Sunday.

The officials also looked into an executive plan to launch a national system for evaluating the performance of schools in the year 2023 and reviewed an updated report on external review of higher education institutions.

During the meeting, the Board members signed a “Conflicts-of-Interest Disclosure Form” designed for institutions that will be subject to evaluation in 2023.
