Muscat: Rainfall of varying intensities will continue in the northern governorates today and tomorrow, as expected by the General Directorate of Meteorology.
Today, at dawn, the Wilayat of Seeb (Muscat Airport) witnessed light to medium rains, with continued flow and formation of rain clouds on the coasts of the Sea of Oman and the Hajar Mountains. The meteorologists confirmed that rain will concentrate on the coastal areas overlooking the Muscat Governorate and the Sea of Oman.
The General Directorate of Meteorology said: “The earlier picture shows chances of rain and flow of wadis and reefs. Formations of water pools in low-lying areas are possible during precipitation, with active downward winds accompanying thunderstorms.”
The statement also warned of high sea waves on the coasts of the Sea of Oman, and the coasts of the governorates of Musandam and South Al Sharqiyah, reaching a maximum height of two meters.
