Muscat: Oman Cricket is pleased to announce the awaited second edition of the Oman D20 league from 11th January 2023 – 24th January 2023. All the matches will be played on Turf 1 of the Oman Cricket Academy Grounds with a round-robin format employed for the entire league stage.
Double Header matches will be played on weekdays with games starting at 2:30pm and 6:30pm and Triple Header matches will be played on weekends with games starting at 10:30am, 2:30pm and 6:30pm respectively.
Speaking on the commencement of the 2nd Season, Duleep Mendis, Chief Development Officer of Oman Cricket said, “Oman Cricket had a phenomenal run with the 1st edition of the D20 League. The tournament far exceeded our expectations and now we feel very excited for the forthcoming D20 edition which I’m sure will surpass expectations even further – both from the players’ development and scouting perspective and from the team owners’ perspective. We at Oman Cricket are thrilled to experiment with various new forms of leagues and I wish everyone all the very best.”
The D20 tournament will be contested by the Premier Division sides representing the same 8 teams that took part in the D10 tournament earlier in October - namely Qurum Thunders, Amerat Royals, Azaiba XI, Bousher Busters, Khuwair Warriors, Ghubrah Giants, Darsait Titans and the defending champions - Ruwi Rangers. The point of major difference as the name suggests, will be the format along with a wider scope of exposure to everyone involved in the tournament.
All the 31 games of the Oman D20 league will be broadcasted live on FanCode in India, GeoSports in Pakistan, Willow TV in US and Canada, CricLife2 and SwitchTV in Middle East and Sportseye and Crictracker via Facebook and YouTube across the world.
Oman Cricket whole-heardly welcomes crowd in numbers to enjoy the cricket extravaganza live at the Oman Cricket Academy Grounds in Amerat with Free Entry to all.
