Muscat: As part of the effects of the depression, rainfall is continuing in the governorates of Musandam, Dhofar and Al Wusta. Weather conditions are expected to spread to other regions of the Sultanate of Oman.
The Directorate General of Meteorology said in the latest update that the satellite images show clouds currently intensifying over most of the governorates, with the continuation of sporadic rains of varying intensity in the east of Musandam Governorate (the states of Madha and Dibba), and in the west of the Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates, and the continuation of the flow of clouds with chances of sporadic rain in the coastal areas of the Governorate of Dhofar.
The CAA issued yesterday the second report on the upper air trough that will affect the Sultanate until the evening of Saturday, January 28, 2023, and said that the chances of clouds advection and isolated rain with occasional thundershowers and hail over the governorates of Musandam north Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dhakhilia and Muscat. The influence is expected to gradually extend to the governorates of North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah Al Wasta and Dhofar, the highest amount of rainfall is expected over the northern governorates.
The report added: "The effect of the groove extends gradually to include the governorates of North Al Sharqiyah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar, and concentration of rain in the northern governorates of the Sultanate of Oman."
