Muscat: The Foreign Ministry on Saturday expressed the Sultanate’s condemnation of an extremist’s burning a copy of the Holy Quran in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark.
The Ministry stated that such behaviours promote extremism and hatred and insult religions and beliefs and require firm stances from the international community to criminalise and punish whoever commits such behaviours as they evoke the feelings of the people worldwide and incite violence and hatred.
The ministry reaffirmed the Sultanate’s firm stance on dissemination of the values of coexistence, peace, respect of religions, diversification of cultures and denunciation of violence and discrimination .
