Muscat: The Honourable Lady, Spouse of His Majesty The Sultan visited Al Wafa Center for Rehabilitation of Disabled Children in Sohar to view the services, training, educational and rehabilitation programmes extended to the beneficiaries, in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development.
During the visit, The Honourable Lady was briefed on the various departments of the center, the services provided to people with disabilities of all ages, and the rehabilitation programs that help them advance their motor and functional abilities.
Those in charge of the center provided an explanation of its vision and objectives, aimed at integrating this dear category of citizens into society through the practice of specialized treatment and rehabilitation methods suitable for each case.
During the visit, the The Honourable Lady spoke with a number of employees of the Al-Wafa Center to learn about the extent to which they benefit from the treatment and rehabilitation programs and services provided to them, and the challenges they face.
At the end of her visit, the The Honourable Lady expressed her deep thanks and appreciation to all those in charge of the center. Because of what she sensed from them of their serious and sincere work and desire to help this dear segment of society, she wished them more success in performing their humanitarian mission.
Meanwhile, those in charge of the Al-Wafa Center for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities expressed their overwhelming happiness and great gratitude to the Honourable Lady for her kind visit.
