Muscat: More than 25 expatriate workers were arrested in violation of the provisions of the Labour Law in the Sultanate of Oman.
A statement issued online by the Ministry of Labour said: ”The Ministry, represented by the Directorate General of Labour Welfare, conducted an inspection campaign, and 26 workers with tourist visas were arrested in violation of the provisions of the Labour Law. Legal measures are being taken against them."
“This came in order to follow up on the non-Omani workforce and the extent of its compliance with the provisions of the Labour Law,” the statement added.
