Muscat: Dense clouds which may lead to heavy rains and thunderstorms are moving towards a number of wilayats and governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, said Oman Meteorology on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

Clouds approaching Muscat
Clouds are currently forming on the coasts of the Omani capital, Muscat, with continued rains in most of the Sultanate’s governorates and wilayats.
Oman Meteorology said:” Some Wilayats of North Al Sharqiyah are witnessing moderate to heavy rains, along with thunderstorms over Al Buraimi (Mahda) and towards the South Al Batinah (Suwaiq).”
The statement confirmed that clouds are continuing to form on the Hajar Mountains and neighbouring areas, on the coasts of Muscat Governorate, and on the South Al Sharqiyah, and the flow of clouds over Al Wusta and Dhofar.

The Oman Meteorology said in a statement online that dense clouds are moving northeast towards the wilayats of Al Khaburah and Saham in Al Batinah North Governorate.
Oman Meteorology also confirmed the movement of clouds from Izki and Nizwa towards Qurayyat, Dima Wal’Tayyin and Ibra, with chances of thunderstorms, and cloud forming on the Hajar Mountains and neighboring areas and desert areas with opportunities for sporadic rain.
It also pointed to the continuation of cumulus cloud activity and rainfall of varying intensity in parts of Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, South Al Batinah and North Al Batinah governorates.
Oman Meteorology also confirmed the flowing of valleys and reefs in the wilayats of North Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah and Al Dakhiliyah.

Oman Meteorology said that the weather today will be partly cloudy to cloudy in most of the governorates, with chances of thunderstorms sometimes accompanied by active winds and hail.
Sea conditions and wind forecast for Tuesday:
Oman Meteorology confirmed that there are chances of dust storms in the desert and open areas due to strong wind movement.
It also confirmed that the sea condition for today will be calm to medium wave (1.5) meters on most of the coasts of the Sultanate.
