Muscat: Shops and commercial centers in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman are witnessing active purchasing movement with the advent of Eid Al-Fitr.
South Al Batinah Governorate's markets witnessed a remarkable increase in purchases in commercial sectors, including the purchase of Eid sacrifices and spices that are used in preparing, grilling and cooking meat. In addition to buying Eid clothes, shops selling Omani Halwa also witnessed a great demand, which is considered one of the main delicacies for many Omani families during the blessed days of Eid.
Saeed bin Muhammad Al Ghafri said: “Purchase of clothes, shoes and other accessories required by the family increases, in order to use them during the days of Eid, stressing that buying holiday supplies usually cannot be neglected, as there are requirements that the consumer prefers to buy from traditional markets, especially grilling tools."
He added: “Many Omanis prefer to prepare for Eid traditional markets. Especially buying materials used for cooking meat such as wood and fronds, as well as sweets, nuts and other foods that are used on holidays for children.”
