Muscat: A state-of-the-art housing complex and technical building for football players at Seeb Stadium is almost ready, courtesy Oman Football Association.
Almost 80 percent of the construction work of the technical building and the residence of players is complete with chances of delivery during the current year as per the contract.
The project, financed by the FIFA, comprises an integrated technical building of 55 rooms with all the facilities, sports halls, a swimming pool among others.
Fahd Al Saadi, Acting Director of administrative and financial affairs, said that the residential units are one of the key elements and goals that OFA aims to execute due to the significance of football in Oman.
This would also contribute to mitigating the financial burden on the budget of Oman Football Association, in terms of the reservations for the stay of national teams during regular camps, he added.
He said that the building enjoys high-standard specifications and it would further help develop football in the Sultanate and achieve the goals of the Oman Football Association.
Basma bint Mohammed, Director of Purchases at Oman Football Association, said that the design of the building has taken into account the needs of the national teams as it comprises rooms for residence of players of the national teams.
The project has rest rooms, halls, sports lounges, a swimming pool and other facilities for the management over an area of 4,700 sqm.
