Tourism projects worth over OMR 3 million implemented in Dhofar
The Ministry is working on developing natural sites in Dhofar Governorate.

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has completed 4 tourism projects in the Dhofar Governorate, in partnership with the Dhofar Municipality and Omran Company, with a total investment cost of more than OMR 3 million, including the development of the waterfront of Al-Mughsail Beach, the Hamreer View Project, Wadi Darbat and Ain Jerziz. These projects work to enhance the elements of the Dhofar Governorate as a tourism destination.

Khalid bin Abdullah Al-Abri, Director General of the General Directorate of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar Governorate, said that the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is working on developing natural sites in Dhofar Governorate to form a tourist and economic tributary during tourism seasons, especially the fall and sarb seasons. This is in addition to what these projects are aiming to contribute to the development of the economy of the province, and the revitalisation of its business sector, both during the implementation stages. The local added value was taken into account, as all projects after development are offered to those wishing to benefit from them, whether through lease or usufruct contracts, which in turn provides new investment opportunities, especially for owners of small and medium enterprises.

He added that the waterfront development project for Al Mughsail Beach is taking place on an area of 174,600 square meters at a cost of OMR 874,600. It includes places to practice marine sports, as well as an adventure park and games for children.

Al-Abri indicated that work on the project included the delivery of furniture and kiosks, replacement of agricultural soil, directional signs, water supply, and asphalting of roads, in addition to municipal parking lots.

As for the Hamrir View project, which is located on an area of 50,000 square meters, its investment cost is OMR 505,000.The project consists of a playground, parking spaces, food and beverage kiosks, restrooms, and seating areas.

The Wadi Darbat project is being built on an area of 105,000 square meters, and its investment cost is OMR 561,500. It provides a unique experience in hospitality and entertainment in the bosom of greenery, orchards and waterfalls flowing in the valley, as well as in terms of housing, food and drinks kiosk, in addition to picnic areas, cable cars and waterfall viewing areas.

The Ain Jerziz development project, built on an area of 40,000 square meters, aims to raise the level of public service facilities. The project includes parking spaces, toilets, and picnic areas.

The Ministry is also implementing a number of oases of tourism services in partnership with the Dhofar Municipality, including Hashir Oasis and Sadah Oasis, which aim to provide all services to visitors, residents and travelers in a number of stations in the governorate.
