TRA conducts trial of early warning service in Al Mussanah

Acting in cooperation with the Civil Aviation Authority and telecommunications service providers, the Communications Regulatory Authority (TRA) today conducted the first real trial of an early warning broadcast service in the Wilayat of Al Mussanah, South Al Batinah Governorate.

The service was launched via mobile phones. Sub-committees were distributed in various coastal areas of the Wilayat to ensure that warning messages were received. The committee checked whether the warning messages reached subscribers of Omani Telecommunications Company (Omantel) and Omani Qatari Company (Ooredoo) in the same wilayat.
