Muscat: Temperatures may exceed the mid-forties in parts of the governorates of South Al Batinah and North Al Batinah from today, and for the next 48 hours.
According to Oman Meteorology, the expected temperatures during the afternoon today, Saturday, May 13, 2023, and during the next two days may exceed the mid-forties in parts of the governorates of North Al Batinah and South Al Batinah. The recorded temperatures at 10 AM at some meteorological stations was 44 degrees Celsius (Sohar station) and 43 degrees Celsius in (Saham Station) in North Al Batinah Governorate.
Oman Meteorology said in its weather forecast for Saturday that the weather will be generally clear over most of the governorates, with the possibility of dust rising in the desert and open areas, and chances of clouds forming on the Al Hajar Mountains during the afternoon. There are chances of low clouds or fog at the end of the night or early morning over parts of the Governorates of South Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar.
According to a statement: "Light to moderate northeasterly winds will blow on the coasts of the Sea of Oman, changing in the evening to light to moderate southwesterly, and sometimes active winds, while light to moderate southeasterly to southwesterly winds are expected in the rest of the governorates, sometimes active on the coasts of the Arabian Sea and in desert and open areas. "
"The sea will have calm to medium waves on the coasts of the Arabian Sea, with a maximum height of two meters. The sea will be calm on the rest of the coasts, with a maximum height of one meter," the statement added.
