Muscat: The tropical depression is likely to intensify to deep tropical depression within 24 hours, the Civil Aviation Authority said in report No 1 regarding the weather condition in the Arabian sea.
"Latest satellite images show intensification of the tropical depression to deep tropical depression located south central of the Arabian Sea, nearly 1165 km east of the coast of Oman. It is likely to intensify to tropical storm during the next 24 hours and the expected movement is to the north / north west ( central of Arabian sea ) with no direct impact on Sultanate of Oman within the next five days," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.

CAA said in weather report No 1: “The latest weather maps and analysis of the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Center indicate the formation of tropical depression southeast of the Arabian Sea and it lay centered on latitude 10.9N and longitude 66.2E, wind speed around its center is estimated between 17 and 27 knots.”
CAA added that the condition is likely to intensify to deep tropical depression during the next 24 hours with no direct impact on the Sultanate of Oman's weather within the next 5 days.
