Parts of Oman expected to witness rainfall

Muscat: A number of governorates in the Sultanate of Oman may witness thunder and rain on Sunday , July 16, 2023 from 12 pm till 8 pm, said Oman Meteorology.

According to Oman Meteorology, the affected areas that may witness thunder rain are the Governorates of North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Dhahira and Al Buraimi

 "The expected impacts of thunder rain are heavy rainfalls, downdraft winds of 25-45 knots, poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thundershowers and chances of overflowing valleys," Oman Meteorology added.

Oman Meteorology has advised people to move away from low-lying places, not to attempt to swim in valleys. It has also recommended for people to supervise their children and make sure they stay away from approaching or crossing valleys for the sake of safety.
