Muscat: Captain Ali bin Saeed Al Hashemi of the Royal Navy of Oman has obtained a patent for a robotic device for maintaining orthopedic hulls of ships underwater. The patent for this invention has been registered with the National Intellectual Property Office of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in the Sultanate of Oman, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, and the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

The innovation aims to reduce the use of human cadres of divers in the future to repair faults and splint in the hull of ships underwater, as the device is equipped with sensors capable of detecting holes in the hull of ships, and has the ability to stick to any location in the hull of the ship at various angles and designs, in order to treat those holes. before it aggravates in an automatic manner that is characterized by accuracy and speed, which contributes to returning the ship to its normal position again in record time without the need to lift it for maintenance. Thanks to the presence of the automatic netting feature, whereby electric scissors are installed and directed electronically to the netting site.

The innovation is characterised by high water insulation and oxidation resistance with the wireless control feature by sending electromagnetic oscillations to communicate commands to the underwater device. record time.

It is worth noting that the inventor, Captain Bahri Ali bin Saeed Al Hashemi, is currently designing the first experimental model for this innovation.
