2,700 investor residency cards issued till August 21 in Oman

Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) has revealed on Monday that more than 2,700 investor resident cards have been offered to people of various nationalities under the investor residency programme.

The ministry said that the investor residency programme, which began in 2021, has three categories to offer under 10-year, and 5-year category, and retirees, and the programme has benefitted more than 2,700 investors till August 21, 2023.

The ministry recently launched a promotional campaign for the investor residency programme to highlight the benefits offered by the programme to investors.

Among the various campaigns are marketing the services of the Invest in Oman Lounge at Muscat and Salalah international airports.

The investor residency programme grants foreign investors and retirees the right to long-term residence in the Sultanate of Oman for a period of 5 or 10 years, subject to renewal. To obtain an investor residency card, the application must be submitted through the website https://tejarah.gov.om/InvestorResidency.

Investors who obtain an investor residence card can avail a number of advantages, as the investor is granted the right to own one property outside the Integrated Tourism Complexes (ITC), whether for residential, commercial or industrial purposes, and it is transferable to others, with the exception of the ownership of land that is prohibited for non-Omanis, for the first category.

The investor is granted the right to reside with his family (first degree) without specifying the number of family members and without specifying the age for the first category.

The holder of an “investor residency” has the right to use a special countermarked for investor residency card holders at airports and ports, and will be allowed to issue visitor visas for relatives, and they can also carry out economic activities or work in the Sultanate in Oman. They also do not require a sponsor to obtain a private work visa and can also bring in domestic workers in private professions.

The Sultanate of Oman also offers, through the Invest in Oman Hall, integrated and thoughtful investment opportunities in all sectors linked to the incentives and facilities provided to investors.
The investor can access the website of the platform https://investoman.om and benefit from the services it provides, as it includes the website, which was designed to comply with the requirements and data of investment marketing in the main investment sectors, which are logistics, manufacturing, education, technology, information technology, health and economy, mining, fisheries, renewable energy, agricultural wealth and tourism.

The Invest in Oman Hall also provides a special investor relations manager for each investor to follow up on his investment and provide all means to speed up the completion of procedures and various investment services smoothly and obtain approvals.
