Muscat: Crowning a year of achievements and accolades, Oman United Insurance Company SAOG (OUIC) – a frontrunner in the domestic insurance services industry – wrapped up 2023 with a prestigious Insurance Company of the Year Award.
The distinguished honour came at the Islamic Banking & Finance Summit recently held at the Hormuz Grand Muscat under the auspices of His Excellency Tahir Al Amri, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO).
Cited for ‘Excellence in General Insurance’, OUIC joined a stellar line-up of banking and financial sector businesses that were conferred with awards and honours in recognition of their outstanding performances. Yahya Khamis Muftah Al Kharusi, General Manager (Claims), proudly collected the award on behalf of OUIC.
It was the latest in a string of awards acquired by the company – a testimony of its credentials in Oman’s rapidly growing insurance services sector. Publicly-listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX), OUIC’S diversified product portfolio includes Motor, Travel, Life, Medical, Home, Cyber and Personal insurance, among other offerings.
With a 38-year legacy, OUIC has earned acclaim for its robust financial strength and consistent performance, maintaining a formidable presence across Oman through an extensive network of branches and agencies. Notably, OUIC stands as the sole insurer with a cutting-edge Auto Service Centre located in Ghala.
In a statement, Sayyid Nassir bin Salim Al Busaidi, Chief Management Executive at OUIC, described the award as a testament to OUIC's robust standing in a competitive marketplace as a top-tier player.
"Receiving this coveted award just as we prepare to ring out 2023, renews our passion and commitment to staying ahead as we bring in the New Year. My heartfelt congratulations to every member of the OUIC family for their respective roles that made possible this latest addition to our continuing haul of awards,” he added.
