Eid shopping: Stores urged to refrain from violating Omani fashion

Muscat: Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIp) has warned all commercial stores against violations that are offensive to Omani fashion.

The Ministry said in a statement: "On the occasion of the approaching Eid Al-Fitr, we warn all shops against offensive violations of Omani fashion, and we call on everyone to preserve our identity."

The Ministry added that it is not permitted to embroider the royal emblem or the official emblem of the state on the sleeve without prior permission. It is not permitted to embroider symbols or phrases that are out of public taste.

Among the emblems that are not allowed to be embroidered in the manufacture of Omani Cap (kima), are the royal emblem, the official emblem of the state, and symbols and expressions that are out of public taste. In addition to symbols that violate Islamic law, sports club logos, trademarks, pictures of people, and pictures of animals.
