Khazaen Economic City to set up worker accommodation in Barka

Barka: Khazaen Economic City in the Wilayat of Barka, South Al Batinah Governorate, will open a worker accommodation to be known as “Al Maskan Village” by mid-2024.

It will be the first integrated labour accommodation that offers sustainable solutions for investors in the economic zone.

More than 90 percent of the residential complex was completed within 22 months since the signing of an agreement to develop and operate the village, which occupies an area of more than 55,000 square metres, with an investment value of OMR25 million.

Eng. Salim Suleiman Al Dhuhli, CEO of Khazaen Economic City, said in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that the worker village project constitutes part of efforts undertaken by Khazaen to furnish an integrated economic environment, fully supplied with health, safety and sustainable facilities.

He added that Al Maskan Village will provide proper social structures that help facilitate livelihood and entertain within the economic zone’s concept of sustainable cities.

Al Dhuhli pointed out that the workers’ village consists of residential complexes designed with high specifications that support integrated living and comfort for employees and workers. Besides the construction area of 25,000 square metres, the facility will have an integrated service complex on a land area of 35,000 square metres, he explained.
