Muscat : The Omani Hajj mission left the Sultanate of Oman for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on Sunday, June 2,2024.
On departure from the Muscat International Airport, the members of the mission were seen off by Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and a number of officials from the ministry.
The mission, headed by Sultan bin Saeed Al Hinai, is scheduled to head to the mission headquarters in Mecca after its arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.
During its presence in Mecca and Medina, the Omani Hajj delegation will serve pilgrims and other guests and supervise their rituals.
The mission consists of a fatwa and religious guidance delegation, an administrative and financial delegation, a delegation supervising Hajj companies, a medical delegation, a delegation from the Royal Oman Police, a delegation from the State Audit Institution, a media delegation, and a scout delegation.
The head of the Omani Hajj mission confirmed during a press conference held last week that the preparations for Mina and Arafat camps were proceeding according to the contract. The two camps will have some additional improvements that are expected to provide suitable atmosphere for performing the rituals, and alleviate the difficulties faced by the pilgrims, as they are temporary structures for receiving pilgrims.
It should be noted that the number of pilgrims of the Sultanate of Oman this year reached 14,000, including 13,500 Omanis, 250 Arab residents, and 250 expats, while the number of Hajj companies for this year reached 31.
