Muscat: Isolated rain and occasional thundershowers and downdrafts are expected today over the Al Hajar mountains and Dhofar Governorate in the afternoon and evening.
Yesterday, a number of the Sultanate’s governorates witnessed scattered rainfall, the highest in Rakhyut, 59 mm, followed by Mirbat, 28 mm, then Bidiya, 19 mm, Ibra, 15 mm. Al-Dama and Al-Ta’in, 9 mm, Al-Qabil, 8 mm, Sumail, 2 mm, and finally, Dhalkut, 1 mm. This is according to data issued by the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources.
According to the General Directorate of Meteorology, today's weather forecast is mainly clear skies over most of the governorates, with a chance of advection clouds and isolated rain over parts of Dhofar governorate coasts.
"There is a chance of low-level cloud or fog patches in the governorates of South Al-Sharqiya, Al-Wusta, Dhofar, parts of the Oman Sea Coasts, and the Musandam Coasts. Additionally, dust may rise over deserts and open areas. It's important to note that low horizontal visibility is expected during rainfall, dust raising, fog formation, and downdraft, so please take the necessary precautions," a statement said.
