Muscat: Grilling or lighting fires in public in non-designated areas will lead to an administrative fine of OMR100 and the violator will be held responsible for rectifying the cause of the breach.
In order to preserve the environment and public health, the Muscat Municipality said: “It wishes the public to spend enjoyable times during the Eid al Adha holiday. The municipality prohibits barbecue in gardens, parks and beaches, including green spaces, and advises to use the sites designated for them.”
Grilling in public places cause harmful effects that includes, damaging public facilities, burning green areas, disturbing visitors and residents and spreading fumes and unpleasant odours.
