24 agreements signed for restoration of Aflaj in Al Buraimi Governorate

Al Buraimi: Represented by the Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Buraimi Governorate, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources today signed 24 agreements for the restoration of a number of aflaj (manmade water canals) in the wilayats of Buraimi and Mahdha. The agreements were worth more than RO 500,000.

The signing of the agreements reflected the Ministry’s efforts to preserve the aflaj and sustain natural water resources, said Eng. Nasser Ali Al Marshoodi, Director General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Buraimi Governorate.

The agreements were signed by Al Marshoodi and representatives of the companies entrusted with the projects. The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Rashid Said Al Kalbani, Wali of Al Buraimi.
