Gasoline production in Oman rises by 25%

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s production of gasoline recorded a rise of 25% in July 2024 compared to June 2024, according to preliminary statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Meanwhile, the total production of refineries and petroleum fell by 2.4% until the end of July 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

The production of regular gasoline (M-91) fell by 9.6% to reach 8,685,700 barrels, and its domestics sales also fell by 3% to reach 8,045,600 barrels until the end of July 2024.

The production of premium gasoline (M-95) rose by 8.3%, reaching 7,803,800 barrels, and its domestics sales also rose by 9.9%, reaching 7,595,300 barrels until the end of July 2024.

The production of diesel fuel (gas oil) fell by 5.2%, reaching 18,831,300 barrels, with domestic’s sales amounting to 8,059,000 barrels. Furthermore, the production of aviation fuel oil fell by 1%, reaching 6,790,500 barrels, with domestic’s sales of 2,364,600 barrels. The production of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) also rose by 5.3%, reaching 5,173,800 barrels, with domestic’s sales also rose by 11.5%, reaching 5,821,200 barrels.

Regarding petrochemicals, the production of benzene increased by 6.8%, reaching 99,900 MT, while the production of paraxylene reached 325,600 MT, representing 6.6%. The production of polypropylene dropped by 21.8%, amounting to 122,700 MT until the end of July 2024.

The Sultanate of Oman’s exports of gasoline (M-91) rose by 16% to reach 1,415,400 barrels, and the exports of premium gasoline (M-95) also rose by 119.8%, reaching 912,700 barrels.

The exports of diesel fuel (gas oil) reached 10,502,700 barrels, and the exports of aviation fuel oil reached 4,405,500 barrels. Additionally, the exports of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) reached 290,800 barrels.

The exports of paraxylene reached 311,000 MT, and the exports of benzene and polypropylene reached 97,700 MT and 93,700 MT, respectively, until the end of July 2024.
