Muscat : The Royal Guard of Oman celebrated its annual day on Sunday, which falls on the first of November every year, under the patronage of His Excellency Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsen Al-Shariqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs.
The celebration included the graduation of a new batch of soldiers, as well as a number of diverse segments, field military formations and parachute jumping that embodied the high efficiency and perfect performance achieved by the Royal Guard of Oman under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik , the Supreme Commander.
The celebration segments, which were held at the military parade ground under the leadership of the Royal Guard of Oman, began with the playing of the Royal Anthem, then the commander of the parade column came forward with permission from the sponsor of the occasion and inspected the front row.
The column then presented a parade with silent movements that included forming the phrase "Our resolve never weakens" and the word "Guards" on the parade ground, embodying the high interest and generous care that the Royal Guard of Oman enjoys from the Supreme Commander and reflecting the level of mastery and high skill enjoyed by the members of the Royal Guard of Oman.
The column then presented a parade with slow marching in regular military ranks and confident steps with the military musical rhythms of the Royal Guard of Oman music, passing in front of the main platform, led by the banner of the Royal Guard of Oman.
The Inspector General of Police and Customs handed over certificates to the top graduates of the new soldiers course. Soldier Ali bin Mohammed Al Faraji won first place in the course’s overall level. Soldier Abdullah bin Saeed Al Hosni won first place in pistol shooting, and in rifle shooting, soldier Omar bin Juma Al Ameri won first place in rifle shooting. Soldier Maher bin Shambeeh Al Balushi won first place in marching and endurance. Soldier Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Kharousi came first in physical fitness.
The Inspector General of Police and Customs, the patron of the ceremony, presented the Special Service Medal of the Guard to a number of members of the Royal Guard of Oman in recognition of the efforts they made during their service, and in appreciation of their loyalty in serving the nation and His Majesty the Supreme Commander and their dedication in performing their national duty.
After that, the parade column chanted the Royal Guard of Oman anthem, accompanied by a parachute display presented by the Royal Guard of Oman free-fall team, then the graduates chanted the call of support, and chanted three times for the long life of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik , the Supreme Commander. Then the parade column moved forward in the parade formation, and at the end the Royal Anthem was played. Then the commander of the column asked permission to leave the square, as the columns passed in front of the main platform to celebrate the normal march accompanied by the music of the Royal Guard of Oman and the participation of the Royal Guard of Oman cavalry; thus announcing the end of the celebration ceremonies.
The event was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, the Chairman of the Shura Council, commanders of the Sultan's Armed Forces, military and security agencies, a number of retired commanders, a number of honorable members of the State Council, and a number of Their Excellencies.
