Muscat: At the behest of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, Head of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, presided over a ceremony at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque on Wednesday to honour the winners of the 32nd edition of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition.
Al Jabri felicitated winners who occupied the top 3 places in each of the competition's 7 levels, in addition to the jury, the Holy Quran community and participants from among persons with disabilities.
The Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition is aimed at encouraging Omanis to memorize the Holy Quran and follow its teachings and to groom a generation that is well versed in the disciplines of the Holy Book, including proficient Quran reciters who master all types of reading skills in accordance with the traditions agreed upon by scholars. It also seeks to highlight the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in international Quran competitions.
