Muscat among top 10 safest cities in the world

Muscat: Muscat, the serene capital city of Oman, has been recognised as one of the safest cities globally, securing the seventh spot out of 382 cities in the 2025 Numbeo Safety Index.

Known for its low crime rates and high safety standards, Muscat continues to stand out as a secure and thriving destination, joining an exclusive list of cities that prioritise public safety and quality of life.

This recognition reflects Muscat’s proactive measures to ensure the well-being of its residents and visitors.

The city scores particularly high in safety during both day and night, showcasing the effectiveness of its law enforcement and community-focused initiatives.

The Numbeo Safety Index evaluates cities worldwide based on public surveys and statistical data.

Rankings are determined by factors such as crime rates, public safety perceptions, healthcare quality, cost of living, and environmental conditions. Cities with a low crime index and a high safety index, such as Muscat, are considered among the safest globally.

Muscat excels in areas such as low rates of theft, assault, and vandalism, along with high levels of confidence in public safety. Its commitment to sustainable urban planning and community well-being further enhances its reputation as a top-tier city for safety and quality of life.
