Muscat – Oman Cricket is proud to announce the successful completion of the first ICC Level 2 Coaching Course practical conducted globally, further strengthening the cricket coaching landscape in the Sultanate. The intensive and interactive program, conducted under the guidance of Mr. Aminul Islam, ICC Master Educator and Development Manager – Asia along with Damith Warusavithana – Coach Educator and Desmond Berhardt – Coach Educator saw enthusiastic participation from 21 aspiring coaches including two female coaches committed to elevating the standards of cricket in the region.
The course, held at Oman Cricket Academy, provided a comprehensive curriculum covering advanced coaching methodologies, biomechanics in cricket, player development techniques, and game strategies. The initiative aligns with Oman Cricket’s continuous efforts to develop world-class coaching expertise and nurture future generations of cricketers.
Mr. Duleep Mendis, Chief Development Officer of Oman Cricket, expressed enthusiasm about the achievement, stating, “Coaching is the backbone of player development and participation, and this program is a significant step toward fostering skilled mentors for the future and encourage participants into the sport. The completion of the ICC Level 2 Course in Oman marks another milestone in our journey to enhance cricketing standards in Oman.”
The newly certified ICC Level 2 coaches will now play a vital role in mentoring players across different age groups and categories, ensuring a structured and professional approach to coaching. This initiative not only enhances local coaching capabilities but also contributes to Oman’s growing reputation as a competitive cricketing nation in all arrays.
