Muscat: According to reports, former Bangladesh cricket captain, Tamim Iqbal, has been admitted to hospital following a significant heart attack during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at Savar on Monday.
The 36-year-old, who was captaining Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club, experienced sudden chest discomfort while on the field at BKSP. He received immediate medical attention on the field before being transported to a nearby hospital for further assessment.
Reports indicate that he is undergoing an operation to insert a stent, aimed at improving blood flow to his heart. In response to the emergency, several BCB board directors are traveling to Savar, and the board meeting has been rescheduled for Monday.
