Muscat : PADI has announced that the Musandam Discovery Diving Centre has been awarded a Five-Star Dive Resort certification, in recognition of its commitment to the highest standards of professional diving education and world-class tourism services.
This achievement represents a qualitative leap for the centre towards advanced levels of specialised diving training and education, and reflects its commitment to sustainability in the diving industry and enhancing the tourism experience in Musandam Governorate, the leading destination for adventure tourism and marine activities in the Sultanate of Oman.
PADI is the world's largest dive training organisation, with more than 6,600 dive centres and resorts and over 128,000 certified instructors in 186 countries and territories. The organisation is renowned for its high-standard educational programmes, enabling millions of people annually to learn to dive and participate in activities to protect the oceans and marine life.
His Excellency Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam, said that the Musandam Discovery Diving Centre's PADI certification as a five-star dive resort consolidates the governorate's position on the international tourism map. It complements Musandam's successive successes in the tourism sector, including the remarkable success of the Musandam International Diving Festival, which attracted widespread local and international attention.
He pointed out that such achievements underscore the governorate's unique assets and reflect the integrated efforts made to promote sustainable tourism development in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
Badr bin Mohammed Al Shehhi, Director of the Musandam Discovery Diving Centre, said: "Our PADI certification as a five-star dive resort is the culmination of years of hard work and commitment to international standards. We are proud to be part of the global PADI network. Through this achievement, we seek to provide an exceptional diving experience that reflects Musandam Governorate's unique natural and marine resources.
