Muscat: Preparation and levelling works have begun in A’Thuraya City, one of the most prominent future urban projects planned for Muscat.
The completion rate has reached about 20 percent of the total awarded works, at a value exceeding OMR7 million.
The awarded works include the construction of 12 box culverts and 17 firewalls. This phase is scheduled for completion early next year, in parallel with the commencement of infrastructure and road works, which will commence by the end of the year, in line with the project’s timeline.
During the last real estate conference, several agreements were signed to accelerate progress. These agreements include awarding supervision and engineering consultancy work to F&M Middle East, worth more than OMR6 million, in addition to awarding the tender for the implementation of street and infrastructure works to Target, worth approximately OMR38 million.
The first phase of the city also witnessed the signing of an agreement to develop District (6) in cooperation with Tathmeer Real Estate Company, with investments exceeding OMR240 million, on an area of 285,000 square metres, including the construction of approximately 1,000 residential units. A’Thuraya City is a pioneering urban project spanning three development phases. The first phase includes more than 2,600 residential units accommodating over 8,000 people, supported by vital facilities such as schools, hotels, community centers, and recreational and sports facilities.
The second phase includes three integrated residential neighbourhoods with a capacity of 3,600 housing units, while the third phase will be launched through an international design competition, allowing leading global firms to contribute to shaping its future features.
The project’s distinction stems from its strategic location in the heart of the capital, Muscat, adjacent to the Muscat Expressway and less than ten minutes from Muscat International Airport. It forms a new urban and investment hub with panoramic views, embodying an ambitious vision for an integrated, modern city that balances sustainability and innovation, opening up broad horizons for living and investment.
It’s worth noting that A’Thuraya City will participate in the Urban, Housing, and Building Exhibition and Conference from October 6 to 9, where its pavilion will display an urban model of the city, allowing visitors and interested parties to gain a closer look at the project’s details and key components.
