Meeting reviews development projects in Barka

Barka: The South Al Batinah Governorate on Tuesday reviewed a number of service and development projects currently under implementation in the Wilayat of Barka. This comes within the context of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure, improve the quality of life, and promote urban development in Barka.

The review took place during a meeting between Eng. Masoud Said Al Hashmi, Governor of South Al Batinah, and a number of officials in the governorate.

Eng. Ali Hassan Al Mujini, Director of the Projects Department at South Al Batinah Municipality, presented a visual overview detailing the implementation status of the ongoing projects in the wilayat.

The presentation covered the Barka Waterfront Development Project, one of the most prominent tourism and recreational projects in the wilayat. Work is progressing according to the specified timeline with a completion rate of 80 percent and at a cost exceeding OMR1.9 million.

As for the park and walking trail projects, the second phase of the Barka Walkway Development Project is underway with a completion rate of 45 percent and a cost exceeding OMR168,000. Work also continues on the project to establish neighbourhood parks across three sites, including South Somhan, Al Billa and Al Rumais, with a completion rate of 10 percent and a cost surpassing OMR288,000.

Furthermore, work is ongoing on projects for rehabilitating and paving internal roads. These include the project for designing and paving road links and parking areas, which has reached 90 percent completion at a cost of over OMR1.4 million. Additionally, the project for designing and paving 50 kilometers of internal roads has achieved a 90 percent completion rate at a cost exceeding OMR2.3 million.
