
Sohar: Acting in cooperation with Credit Oman, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion today organised a programme on instruments of international trade assurance.
The programme aimed to raise awareness among employees in government departments and private sector establishments about basic instruments that contribute to enhancing confidence among trading partners and facilitating the traffic of goods and services across borders, in addition to minizining the risks associated with commercial operations.
The programme included a visual presentation on consolidating the Omani system of exports and highlighted the importance of securing credit for Omani exporters, to help control commercial risks and enable exporters to sell their products locally and globally with confidence.
The programme included a dialogue session on the role of credit insurance in promoting the system of Omani exports. It elaborated on how insurance services and solutions could contribute to enhancing the presence of Omani products in global markets.
The programme also addressed the challenges facing the Omani export sector, the extent to which credit insurance could contribute to overcoming those challenges and the importance of letters of credit issued by banks in facilitating trade.
