A powerful coalition of community partners joined hands to promote women’s health by offering free mammogram screenings in collaboration with the Oman Cancer Association (OCA). The initiative, hosted at The Diplomatic Club, brought together Oman Cancer Association, Europcar Oman & Bahrain, The Diplomatic Club, AmCham, British Business Forum (BBF), INMECC, Crowe, and W Muscat in a united effort to raise awareness about early detection and support women across Oman.
Originally planned as a two-day campaign on 11–12 October, the initiative saw an overwhelming response with more than 100 enquiries in the first wave. To accommodate the high demand and ensure every registered woman had access, the campaign was extended to four days from 10–13 October.
During this extended period, over 80 women completed their screenings, demonstrating strong community engagement and a growing understanding of the importance of early detection in the fight against cancer.
“We proudly support this initiative, believing that empowering women through health screenings is essential,” said Charm Majolica, Director of The Diplomatic Club. “This partnership reflects our commitment to social responsibility and community well-being. We are encouraged to see so many women taking charge of their health.”
Rebecca Olson, CEO of AmCham, added: “Our partnership with Europcar and the Oman Cancer Association reflects our belief that business should contribute to the wellbeing of the community. Providing free mammograms is a practical step that helps women access early detection and puts their health first. We’re proud to support an initiative that has a real, measurable impact.”
Speaking on behalf of the British Business Forum, Maggie Jeans, Director of BBF Oman, said: “Early detection saves lives. BBF is proud to stand with all our partners and OCA in supporting women across Oman. Community health is a shared responsibility, and this initiative demonstrates the power of partnership.”
Helen Arundel, the Sales & Marketing Manager at W Muscat stated-
“ Partnering with Europcar for the mammogram screenings is an exciting opportunity for W Muscat to champion women's health."
Anita Kotian, Finance Manager of Europcar Oman, commented: “It was heartwarming to see so many women come forward for their screenings. Supporting this initiative reminded us how even small steps can create a meaningful impact in someone’s life.”
This multi-partner initiative reflects a shared commitment to awareness, prevention, and women’s well-being in Oman. Together, these organizations continue to champion long-term health education, community outreach, and access to essential screening services.
