
Doha: The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced that the country’s air defenses shot down two Sukhoi Su-24 aircraft approaching from Iran and successfully intercepted seven ballistic missiles and five drones targeting several locations across Qatar.
In a statement carried by Oman News Agency (ONA), the ministry said the threat was dealt with immediately upon detection in line with the approved operational plan. It added that all missiles were destroyed before reaching their intended targets.
According to the statement, the interceptions were carried out by the Qatari Air Force and the Qatari Navy as part of coordinated defensive operations.
