Muscat— The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology continues to implement the remaining works of the Sultan Turki bin Said Road project (Phase Two – Part Two), which extends from the Wilayat of Al Kamil and Al Wafi to the Wilayat of Sur.
The ministry said that the project has reached an overall completion rate of 85 percent, progressing 5 percent ahead of the approved schedule.
Current work is focused on constructing overpasses, valley bridges and tunnels, in addition to completing water drainage channels within the urban area of Sur to enhance road safety and infrastructure efficiency.
As part of the development progress, a new 5-kilometre section of the road is expected to open in April, which will help facilitate traffic flow and improve connectivity between the wilayats.
The project forms part of the government’s broader efforts to upgrade the transport infrastructure network and support economic and urban development in the Sultanate of Oman.
